Three cities and three new sounds. A rock band from Manchester, a Brooklyn rap crew coming in hot and a London emcee turning 85 seconds into a youth moment.
Let’s get into it.

Doctor - Arkayla
I discovered this band last week on TikTok through their acoustic rendition of this song. This band is out of Manchester and are relatively new. This is their first release on their label AMF Records. I’m a sucker for nice harmonies especially when a band does them well. One of the projects I used to manage, The Polar Boys, were all great as solo musicians but when you put their voices together the harmonies were reminiscent of The Beach Boys and Beatles. The same rings true here, although there is a clear lead vocal in this song the backing harmonies are really nice touch. I think I almost prefer the acoustic version and hope they release one in the near future. You be the judge and let me know what you think. Watch here and listen to the studio version below.

wilder than who - Wild East Radio
It feels like NYC is leading the charge with a new wave of rap groups coming up. You’ve got the WHATMORE collective and now Wild East Radio.
Wild East Radio started as a rap group formed by Brooklyn teens Rakesh Kwantu, along with his cousin Jah and friend Kodi, while attending Edward R. Murrow High School in Brooklyn. The trio grew up together and built the group during the pandemic lockdowns, performing open mics and recording demos locally.
The group dropped their RESET I EP last month. “wilder than who” is the lead track…short, punchy, with a confident swagger and a fast BPM over drill inspired beat. If you dig energetic new rap with streetwise delivery, this one is worth your attention. The visuals they’ve been rolling out are also superb.

Walk in the park - Feng
If you’ve been sleeping on the UK underground rap scene, let Feng wake you up.
"Walk in the Park" is a short but sharp freestyle-style track out of London, clocking in at just 1 minute and 25 seconds and it hits. It won’t be for everyone, but as a music lover, you have to appreciate what the youth is doing.
Feng spits off-the-cuff bars packed with wordplay, confidence, and tongue-in-cheek references: “Hear me on the radio like I'm Alan Partridge” or “Future looking bright, that’s why I got on sunglasses” hahah they’re dumb but his delivery makes them hard.
It feels more like a casual flex through the streets than a polished single which is exactly what makes it feel real.
Feng’s visual style and sonic identity both lean hard into 90s nostalgia: think baggy fits, chokers, Vans, and basement-party vibes. It’s DIY and it’s quickly building momentum.
Feng is definitely building serious momentum and will be one to watch out for. Watch the lo fi video below:
Quote of the Day
One of the main elements that makes Tyler such an innovative and exciting artist is his ability to constantly tap into his childlike imagination.
I'm an optimistic guy. I'm one of those big dreamers. I'm one of those kids with that annoying imagination.
Video of the Day
Tyler sits down with the music interviewing god, Zane Lowe to chop it up about his latest project, life and music in general. It’s really good watch as is any Zane Lowe interview.
Photo of the Day
This is an image of The Strokes shot by Cody Smyth. Cody grew up with the band since high school and remains friends today with them all. The photo was taken on 8th Avenue before they all drove to Philly to a gig. I really like the candid nature of this shot. There’s clearly some type of story or comment being made. Two of the bandmates listening intently, one looking right at the camera and Julian, being well…Julian with a dart and iced coffee in hand.
