Today, we’ve got rusowsky bending electrolatin into a playful merengue, Geese turning a song about bureaucracy into a raw, poetic protest and Moon Panda floating in with a slow-burn dream-pop record. Three completely different energies, but all built on the same foundation: quality music that sticks with you long after the first listen.

malibU - rusowsky
I love a song that completely catches you off guard. In the sense where you think you know what’s next and it just completely switches up on you and leaves you with a pleasant surprise. “malibU” from Latin artist rusowsky, swirls together electro-latin beats with an unexpected merengue pulse.
There’s something so fun and quirky about this song that can either get you pumped up for the day or have you dancing in the clurrrbbbbbb. His falsetto vocals hit just right. There’s part of the songs where they feel like synth. Really cool stuff.

Taxes - Geese
These guys are the real deal. Honestly one of the sickest bands. They vibe and play so well together. They also look like absolute modern day rockstars. Hailing from the hometown. NYC for those who weren’t sure what I was referring to (it’s where I’m from).
This song has a really nice flow of energy. Big chords. Haunting and emotive vocals. It’s got this Coldplay-esque feeling to the instrumentation. That kind of big record sound.
Taxes is the lead single off the bands fourth studio album, Getting Killed, due out September 26th. Here’s the music video for the song if you’d rather experience the song with a super cool visual.

Butterknife - Moon Panda
Moon Panda’s new single, Butterknife, is composed with hazy guitar lines, a warm bass, and vocals that feel like they’re leaning in to tell you a secret.
It’s the first taste of their upcoming album Dumb Luck (out Oct 3). Written and recorded mostly at home, then polished by producer Adam Thein (the mastermind producer behind Djo), the track feels intimate yet cinematic. The production is giving me slight Mac Demarco vibes.
Lyrically, Butterknife explores the balancing act of relationships — the delicate cuts we make to keep things steady. If you’re in the mood for something that kind of feels like a sip of wine at golden hour then this one’s worth giving a listen.
Quote of the Day
Behind every successful man or woman there are many unsuccessful years.
Video of the Day
The Charities’ “It’s Not Our Time” is a tender slice of modern soul, capturing the bittersweet ache of love held back by bad timing. Backed by warm production from Penrose Recordings, it’s a slow-burning heartbreaker that gives you that sweet nostalgic feel.
Photo of the Day
Until today, I had no idea that Iggy Pop was dubbed the inventor of crowd surfing. Pretty epic. The lead singer of the Stooges has been credited with inventing the move at the Cincinnati summer pop festival in June 1970. The moment is captured in this striking image of Iggy: shirtless, of course, and pointing ahead with a silver-gloved hand. The image was captured by photographer Tom Copi.
