This week’s lineup has a little bit of everything — from Stevan’s soul-soaked reflections to KTmelodies’ club-ready grooves and Bb Trickz’s bold Latina fire. Whether it’s emotionally, physically, or just in vibe, each of these artists is carving out their own lane and I’m here for it. Let’s get into it.

Nostalgia - Stevan

Stevan is a Burundi-Australian singer, songwriter, and producer whose music fuses soulful R&B grooves with indie-pop flair. Known for his smooth vocal delivery and introspective storytelling.

“Nostalgia was written about being taken back to great memories and moments by someone you love.” - Stevan

Musically, the song floats between airy ballad and minimalist groove. It’s intimate without being stripped bare, emotional without being heavy-handed. Think Frank Ocean’s Blonde meets Steve Lacy’s playfulness, with flashes of Dominic Fike’s melodic storytelling. Stevan brings his own flavor, fusing raw vulnerability with inventive production that feels as effortless as it is intentional.

Stevan has an action packed summer dropping a single every two weeks until late September. I would also like to note that he is the first artist I signed to my new label, New Relic Records. Go give it some love for me.

pack up ya bags - KTmelodies

I first came across this UK producer/artist back in January, and I was immediately drawn to his energetic, club-pop anthemic bangers. His production has elements of the classic Kaytranada bounce, but it still feels uniquely his own. Although the lyrics aren’t the strongest, the way they’re delivered and how they sit within the beat make this a fun listen. He’s been teasing new tunes on his TikTok, which I think could be monstrous summer bops if the right DJ gets a hold of them and popularizes them. I’m excited for this kid. He’s got a cool look and is entirely self-produced, which—as you know—I love. Take a listen and let me know what you think.

Malvada - Bb trickz

This songstress blasted onto the scene out of Spain about two years ago with her song ‘Missionsuicida’ and has been delivering ever since. She gets mixed reviews, but I really like her because she’s built a strong visual identity with consistently creative videos for almost every one of her songs. She’s built a world around her music and positioned herself as just a little gangster baddie. She’s not gangster, but she’s got that Latina flare for sure. If you watch the video for the song I’m sharing, you’ll understand what I’m saying.

“Malvada” literally means “evil” — but in this track, it’s a badge of honor. Bb Trickz taps into her villain era, stepping into the role of a woman who plays by her own rules and owns every room she walks into. The energy is loud, confident, and unapologetically bold. It’s a flex anthem about self-worth, street cred, and turning the idea of being “bad” into something powerful.

The beat also embodies the quintessential summer-on-a-Caribbean-island sound, which is perfect timing for heading into the early days of summer.

Lexa Gates. She is so cool on so many levels. She’s cementing herself as a leader of the next generation of talent coming out of New York. Again, her visual identity is well crafted it always keeps you coming back for more. She’s the type of person I wish I had in my contacts to just call up, smoke a blunt and kick it with her. Her swag levels are unmatched. I can’t wait for her to be world known. By the way the sample she uses in this song is an iconic track by The Little Dippers called ‘Forever’. It’s worth a listen as well.

This is an image of the Wu Tang Clan in 1993 before the release of their history defining, sound altering album, Enter The Wu Tang. The album kicked the door open and introduced an entire universe. Nine MCs, all different, all dope, and suddenly everyone wanted a verse from every one of them.

On paper, it should’ve felt like a mixtape but somehow, RZA made it feel like one mind speaking through nine voices. He had the vision and the discipline to bring all their chaos into harmony.

I hope you enjoyed today’s picks. 😃
