This week’s selects spotlight dives into three tracks that refuse to stay in one lane. From PawPaw Rod’s soulful blend of funk and reflection, to Baro Sura’s atmospheric storytelling and to the collaborative alchemy of Terminal 6, Froogle, and JEANLOUIS.
Let’s get into it!

Not Crazy Enough - Terminal 6, Froogle, JEANLOUIS
This collaboration between Terminal 6, Froogle, and JEANLOUIS lives in the alt-pop/electronic lane, pulling threads from house, indie, and experimental soundscapes. “Not Crazy Enough” is this hypnotic, late night club banger that I would expect to hear at 4am on a sweat filled dancefloor somewhere in Berlin. The track’s title hints at themes of risk, passion, and self-awareness. Terminal 6’s production leans sleek and polished, Froogle injects groove-heavy sensibilities, and JEANLOUIS rounds it out with sharp vocal delivery. Give it a spin and let me know what you think.

Yours Now, Yours Next - Baro Sura
Baro Sura is a rising voice in the indie R&B/alternative space. Signed to the iconic Rostrum Records (home to Mac Miller & Wiz Khalifa). His music leans heavy on atmospheric production, layered textures, and lyrics that sit somewhere between a love letter and a diary entry. “Yours Now, Yours Next” feels cinematic: intimate in tone, but expansive in emotional reach. It’s a track about fleeting connection and the bittersweet tension between holding onto someone in the moment and knowing they’ll move on. Baro Sura’s strength lies in how he makes personal stories feel universal.

Safe Spaces - PawPaw Rod
PawPaw Rod (real name Rodney Hulsey) blends funk, hip-hop, and soulful melodies into a unique sound that feels both nostalgic and refreshing. Known for his breakout hit “Hit Em Where It Hurts”, Rod consistently crafts songs that balance feel-good grooves with introspective lyrics. “Safe Spaces” captures that duality. It’s smooth and laid-back, yet emotionally present. The track plays with contrasts: a relaxed rhythm underscored by themes of vulnerability and healing. PawPaw Rod is carving a lane where retro influences meet modern storytelling, and this song is a perfect example.
Quote of the Day
A smooth sea never made a skillful mariner.
Video of the Day
I’m a total sucker for old school videos of rock legends. I think this live version is better than the actual recording. There’s not many artists you can say have better live performances than studio recordings. Enjoy Bowie in the flesh.
Photo of the Day
In 1976, Alice Cooper and Keith Moon posed on the hoods of their Rolls-Royces, drinks in hand, living out the peak of rock star excess. Both were part of the notorious Hollywood Vampires crew who nights spent at the Rainbow Bar and Grill. Other members of that crew included, Ringo Starr, Harry Nilsson, John Lennon and more. For those who are like wtf are you talking about…simply put, it was a super exclusive drinking group formed in the 70’s in Los Angeles. The only point of the group was to see who could out drink each other. HAHA typical rock star shit. Photo by Eddie Sanderson.
