Offbeat Emotions and Bangers

Today’s lineup is a little all over the place…again...We’ve got Tiffany Day swerving out of her indie pop lane into hyper-pop territory, Bag Raiders dropping a euphoric club heater and a track from my alter ego Shwiggly that’s basically what happens when heartbreak meets beachside weirdness. Toss in a wildly good Justin Bieber remix my mom put me onto and that is today’s selects.

I first met Tiffany about five years ago when I featured her on my Bedroom Pop channel. She’s a really sweet girl who started off making indie pop tunes, you can watch our episode here if you’re curious. This track is a complete switch up from the type of music she has become known for but, I love when an artist steps out of their comfort zone. This track is a high energy electro / hyper pop bop.

Bag Raiders just dropped a new track called “Hold Me”, and it’s one of those songs that makes you want to get in the car, roll the windows down, and have a dance party in your car. The Aussie dj duo bursted onto the scene in 2011 with their meme-fueled anthem, Shooting Stars, that still slaps 15 years later. But this one feels different. “Hold Me” is sharp, polished, and laser-focused on the club. It’s built for movement.

Give it a spin if you’re looking for something euphoric that you can play a summer pool party.

Back in 2022, I was going through mental warfare with myself for a slew of reasons. I had a lot of different thoughts and feelings bottled up and I decided to express the way I was feeling by writing some tunes. I ended up recording about 10 songs that I have been quietly releasing this summer under the moniker: shwiggly.

If you like a quirky tune that feels like an offbeat version of Mac Demarco and Tame Impala who conceived a child on the beach this would probably be it. The song deals with emotions of coping with a breakup but in a happy feel good way. I think my favorite line from the song is, “Feeling like a squirt, I just want to flirt, extrovert, introvert, you’re a jerk!”. I also really like the line, “Playing with my heart, smelling like a fart”. The beat was produced by Logic’s long time producer, 6ix. By the way, this is my song. 🙂

You can really feel the electricity of the performance with the fans screaming and singing and the body language of the artists. Not to mention they are shredding in the crowd.
