There’s nothing better than stumbling on a song that feels like a secret. This week’s picks hit all corners: a forgotten Peruvian yacht-pop gem that sounds like summer itself, a lo-fi heartbreaker, and a smooth-talking love ballad from Skizzy Mars. Whether you’re driving with the windows down or lying awake overthinking, these tracks know exactly where to find you. Let’s get into it.

Seabird - Innovations

I love finding a song that basically has no trace or major acclaim but slaps. Nothing better than a golden crate gem. The Innovations only released two songs. Some people think they were a Peruvian studio group and some believe it was just a one off project, (no one really knows), Innovations, dropped this shimmering yacht-pop gem in 1977. It’s technically a cover of the Alessi Brothers’ original, but this version does something different: it makes the air feel warmer. It transports you to a summer coastline drive. The vocals are soft and breezy, the keys ride gentle waves, and the whole track sounds like it’s melting under the summer sun.

Stay, Pt. 2 - extremely bad man

This song is a lo-fi, emotionally charged cut from extremely bad man.

Featuring the hauntingly tender vocals of Alexis Moraites, “Stay, Pt. 2” is the second half of a two-part piece originally released on the Love Is Pure EP. Soft synths float under delicate harmonies, while minimal percussion keeps the heartbeat barely alive.

Whether you're walking home under streetlights or lying awake at 2 a.m. wondering what went wrong, “Stay, Pt. 2” knows how to sit with you in silence.

Rendezvous - Skizzy Mars

Skizzy Mars is back with his signature effortless flow and groovy beats. The beat is produced by Public Library Commute who also has dope artist project himself. I featured him on my Bedroom Pop series a few years back. You can check out the video here if you’d like. If you like a nice vibey love ballad about chasing love then this song is for you.

Quote of the Day

When you have exhausted all possibilities, remember this: you haven’t.

-Thomas Edison

Video of the Day

If you’ve got a dream you’re chasing, watch this. Most ideas don’t fail…they just get abandoned too soon. Success doesn’t happen overnight. It’s the result of years of relentless work, patience, and belief in yourself when no one else sees it yet.

Photo of the Day

I’m back with another Jim Marshall photograph. This image features Mick Taylor, Mick Jagger, Charlie Watts and Bill Wyman sitting backstage with a female friend during The Rolling Stones American Tour in 1972. I love the composition of this image with everyone in their own thoughts. There are nice lines and height to this image. It also perfectly captures backstage energy which is mainly just A LOT of chilling. Many people think it’s a big ole party which it sometimes is, but 95% of the time..it’s exactly this. Sitting and chilling with your tour mates.
