I’ve been on a good run lately, music keeps finding me at the right time. Whether it’s a new drop from an old friend, a soul-jazz gem dug up from the crates, or a perfectly composed music video that punches you in the gut with nostalgia, this week’s picks hit from all angles. Stevan brings the excitement, Jeremy Zucker leans into longing, and Ron Everett reminds us that timeless music doesn’t need a spotlight to shine.

Pretty - Stevan

I’m back with another jam from my Australian brother, Stevan. The song captures the childlike excitement of meeting someone who seems “pretty” in every way—inside and out. It’s a super fun and easy listen which makes it perfect for your summer playlist or even sending it to that special someone you fancy as a little love letter.

Hometown - Jeremy Zucker

One thing I’ve always admired about Jeremy Zucker is his authenticity. He’s never chased trends or tried to be something he’s not. Instead, he’s built a sound and brand that genuinely reflect who he is, and it shows in his music.

This track is the lead single from his upcoming third full-length album, set to drop later this summer. The video is beautifully shot, using still-frame compositions that give the song room to breathe and evoke a strong sense of nostalgia. Each frame captures snapshots of suburban life, moments that feel personal, yet universally relatable.

My favorite scene? The opening shot where he walks out of the garage and hops over the sensor. Too real.

Glitter of the City - Ron Everett

Every now and then, a record floats up from the depths and stops you in your tracks because it feels like something you were always meant to find. That’s what happened the first time I heard “Glitter of the City” by Ron Everett. A private-press soul-jazz gem from 1977, it was sold hand-to-hand in Philly, out of the trunk of a car. Fucking sick if you ask me.

Everett was a trumpeter, vocalist, and DIY visionary. The track, was sung by a vocalist named Tahira and is the kind of tune that feels like golden-hour light on a beautiful summer day in the West Village.

Thanks to the folks at Jazzman Records, this once-impossible-to-find LP got reissued recently with remastered audio and bonus tracks. It’s a quiet masterpiece finally getting its flowers.

Quote of the Day

"Cause a little bit of summer is what the whole year is all about.”

- John Mayer

Video of the Day

This is one of the most honest and inspiring conversations I’ve ever heard. Tyler, the Creator stands out as one of the greatest artists of our time because of his relentless curiosity and his fearless commitment to exploring what truly excites him. That energy comes through in his work. It’s raw, chaotic, and undeniably beautiful.

In this candid sit-down moderated by Recho Omondi (@omndi), Tyler joins a group of NYC creatives to talk about taking risks, trusting your vision, and letting go of fear. It’s a must-watch for anyone in a creative field, but the insights go far beyond that. The lessons shared here resonate across industries and can inspire anyone chasing purpose in their work.

Photo of the Day

This shot of Public Enemy was taken in 1986 on the corner of Lafayette and Broadway in NYC, captured by the legendary Glen Friedman. First off, look at the fits. Flavor Flav rocking his iconic clock chain. If you’ve been down there recently, the building behind them is now home to the KITH flagship store. And that funky triangular building across the street? Wasn’t even there yet.

If you enjoyed today’s letter, share it with a friend.
